Scott Nielsen, MD


Bio	Scott Nielsen, MD obtained a Bachelor of Science at Weber State University and a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. As part of his training, Dr. Nielsen completed a combined orthopedic internship and residency at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and an adult lower extremity reconstruction fellowship at the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California. Some of his focuses within orthopedic care include hip and knee replacement, trauma care, knee preservation surgery, and complex revision surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and specializes in orthopedics. Dr. Nielsen knew he wanted to pursue a career in medicine after studying anatomy and pathology in school. He chose to specialize in orthopedics because he enjoys seeing the difference that orthopedic care can make in helping people function better. When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Nielsen enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, surfing, mountain biking, and eating good food.
