Jacob Barlow, NP completed his Bachelor of Science in nursing at Utah Valley University and finished his Master of Science in nursing at Brigham Young University. He is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and specializes in medical oncology.
From a very young age, Jacob knew that he wanted to do something in medicine. His mother worked as a receptionist in the radiology department when he was a teenager, and while she worked there, she got him a job recycling old imaging film. This job ignited Jacob’s passion for healthcare. Instead of just recycling old film, Jacob tried to identify what was wrong in the scan and then compared his
impressions with the radiologists’ reports. After his brother passed away suddenly, he decided to become a nurse because he was impressed with how the nursing staff responded to the needs of his family.
Jacob chose to specialize in medical oncology because it is an extremely rewarding field of work that allows him to work with patients. In his opinion, cancer patients are “the nicest people you will ever meet. Their unique perspective on life radiates optimism, gratitude, and happiness.”
When he is out of the office, Jacob enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He relishes his time outside and loves hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, watching his kids play sports, and riding anything with a motor. He also enjoys working with his hands, building things, and getting involved in projects.
A provider's patient satisfaction rating is determined by patient responses to questions from the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey, administered by NRC Health.
Patients today have more choices than ever, including where, how and from whom they get care. That's why Revere Health believes it's important to provide access to transparent information, empowering our patients to make knowledgable decisions about their healthcare.
CAHPS surveys are funded and overseen by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) within the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Patients receive the nine-question survey via email or phone call, and we publish provider ratings on Revere Health's website once he or she has at least 30 completed surveys.
