Bradford Matthews, MD

Bradford K. Matthews, MD, earned his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Chemistry from Brigham Young University before completing his medical degree at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C. He completed his internship and residency training through the U.S. Army at William Beaumont Army Medical Center and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Matthews is board- certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Matthews specializes in orthopedic surgery with an emphasis on sports medicine, including injuries of the shoulder, knee, elbow, and ankle, as well as fracture care. He provides advanced arthroscopic management of shoulder and knee conditions, including rotator cuff tears, labral tears, shoulder instability, ACL and ligament injuries, meniscus tears, cartilage injuries, patellar instability, and osteoarthritis. He also treats elbow injuries, tendon tears, joint instability, loose bodies, and fractures of the upper and lower extremities.

Dr. Matthews has practiced orthopedic surgery in Utah Valley for 17 years and is known for his thoughtful, cautious approach to care, open communication, and commitment to continuity. His background also includes distinguished military service as a commissioned officer in the United States Army, including service during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He has been recognized as a Distinguished Physician by Intermountain Health and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Outside of work, Dr. Matthews enjoys basketball, golf, hiking, hunting, mountain biking, fishing, traveling, experiencing new cultures, and trying new foods, especially in Europe. He also loves spending time with his three married children, their spouses, and his adorable grandson.
