Kristy Leany, NP

Kristy Leany, APRN, FNP-BC, received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Utah University and her Advanced Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Kristy worked in critical care for two years, followed by fifteen years in emergency and trauma care. Shen then worked in cardiology for several years before opening her own primary care practice due to the lack of access for basic care in rural Mesquite, Nevada. In 2015 she won the Emergency Nurse of the Year award, and in 2017 she won the Dan Mordecai Award for her contributions in nursing to the Nevada community.

Kristy is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (ANCC), the American College of Cardiology (ACC), and the Emergency Nursing Association (ENA).

Kristy started out with a degree in accounting, but quickly realized her passion was for nursing, specifically cardiology and preventive medicine. As someone with extensive experience in both hospital and clinic settings, Kristy is looking forward to continuing her work with Revere Health. She enjoys empowering patients to help them make healthy lifestyle changes and optimize their health. Kristy brings her own interpersonal approach to patient care, which includes teaching, engaging, and forming cohesive relationships to create quality goals for each individual.

In her free time, Kristy enjoys everything the Southwest has to offer, including hiking, boating, swimming, biking, and running. She competes in triathlon, marathon and competitive swim events throughout the year. She also runs her own non-profit for rural health in underprivileged communities. Kristy is always looking for ways to support other single moms and women’s shelters wherever she can.
