Michael Burkholz, MD

Dr. Michael Burkholz is a board-certified gastroenterologist with experience diagnosing and treating a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions. He earned his Bachelor of Science in business management with an emphasis in entrepreneurship from Brigham Young University before receiving his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. He completed his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Medical City Fort Worth, where he served as chief resident. He is trained in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Dr. Burkholz is fluent in Spanish.

Before joining Revere Health, Dr. Burkholz practiced in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he served as a physician and partner. He has also provided care at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center. He is board-certified in both gastroenterology and internal medicine.

Throughout his career, Dr. Burkholz has been involved in medical leadership and research. He has peer-reviewed research for CommonSpirit and previously supervised overnight physicians at LifeCare Hospital. During residency, he was recognized as Internal Medicine Resident of the Year and received the Internal Medicine Research of the Year award.
Outside of work, Dr. Burkholz enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He stays active by playing soccer, hiking, camping, and skiing. He also enjoys trying new foods and cheering on BYU sports.
