Michael Hamilton, MD

Michael Hamilton, MD, is a board-certified Ophthalmologist with a passion for leveraging cutting-edge technology and personalized care to improve the quality of life for his patients. Dr. Hamilton earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Science with a minor in Spanish from Southern Utah University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, a military medical school in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his Ophthalmology residency through the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium, a combined Army-Air Force program.

Dr. Hamilton has been board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 2005 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Hamilton offers a wide range of Ophthalmology services, including cataract surgery, diabetic eye care, macular degeneration treatment, glaucoma management, blepharoplasty eyelid surgery, laser refractive surgery, routine eye exams, and glasses and contact lens fittings.

Dr. Hamilton finds Ophthalmology particularly rewarding because it relies on ongoing innovation and technology to enhance patient outcomes and improve lives directly. With over two decades of experience as a military ophthalmologist, he has honed the ability to deliver high-quality, individualized care, ensuring patients feel informed, confident, and comfortable with their diagnosis and treatment plans.

Outside of work, Dr. Hamilton enjoys running, biking, and swimming, often training for triathlons. He spends his free time tackling home improvement projects, watching Hallmark movies with his wife, and sampling Utah’s best Thai curry dishes. One of his favorite activities is pulling his three adorable grandsons in a red wagon for ice cream.
