Steven Shamo, MD


Bio	Steven W. Shamo, MD was drawn to medicine as a profession by his desire to help others using his interest in science and healing. Dr. Shamo received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah in speech and hearing sciences and continued his education at Southern Illinois University earning a Master of Science in communication disorders and sciences. He then received his MD from the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Shamo is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Shamo decided to practice family medicine because it allows him to care for multiple generations of families. He also enjoys the breadth of medical conditions that he sees as a family doctor, but what he enjoys most is seeing his patients grow and progress through life. Outside of work you can find Dr. Shamo fishing and being in the outdoors. His fishing excursions have taken him to the water off of Cabo San Lucas to catching halibut and salmon in Alaska. He also enjoys gardening, sports, exercise, reading and spending time with family.
