PROVO, UT – January 23, 2017 – On January 23 Christopher Steen will join Revere Health as the new chief operating officer (COO). Steen succeeds outgoing COO Rob Lloyd, who retired on December 31, 2016.
Steen has a diverse background in operations, finance and planning, and has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He was most recently vice president of St. Mary’s Medical Group in Grand Junction, Colo.
“I have enjoyed and been blessed to advance within the healthcare industry over my career,” says Steen. “My experience has exposed me to excellent mentors and individuals who have changed the lives of many, and I look forward to bringing that experience to Revere Health.”
As COO, Steen will assist CEO Scott Barlow in overseeing Revere Health’s value-based care initiative, which operates on a fee-for-value model rather than the traditional fee-for-service structure. The goal of shifting to value-based care is to provide better quality care in innovative ways that can save payers, patients and the healthcare system money.
Steen’s leadership on this initiative will position Revere Health to better meet the healthcare needs of patients in the future.
“I see the industry moving forward in the direction that Revere has been heading for many years,” he said. “We must deliver a superior value to our patients in a effort to remain at the head of this highly competitive industry. I think technology, now more than ever, will begin to impact care delivery and predictive care-based models in ways that are just now being realized.”
“We look forward to welcoming Christopher to Revere Health and to Utah,” says Barlow. “Staying ahead of the changing trends in the industry has been a priority, and I am confident that the experience Christopher brings will help us continue to accomplish our goals.”
