Hematology-Oncology Department Receives NCODA Accreditation

December 17, 2024

NCODA Award

Revere Health’s Hematology-Medical Oncology department was recently awarded NCODA Accreditation, a prestigious distinction given to organizations that demonstrate the ability to provide the highest levels of quality care to patients.

With this accreditation, the department’s pharmacy operation has now been designated as a Medically Integrated Pharmacy (MIP) for three years. This means patients can pick up their oral chemotherapy medications directly at the clinic for a more coordinated experience under one roof.

Other benefits of MIPs include improved medication management and adherence, significant cost savings, timely dispensing of correct prescriptions, and enhanced patient education.

“By pursuing and achieving accreditation, Revere Health has demonstrated that it meets the NCODA accreditation standards based on the ASCO/NCODA Patient-Centered Standards for Medically Integrated Dispensing and is committed to pursuing excellence,” said Elizabeth Bell, Director of Medically Integrated Pharmacy Accreditation for NCODA.

Oral chemotherapy is a type of cancer therapy that can provide a more convenient and comfortable option than traditional chemotherapy. It can be used to treat almost all cancer types including breast cancer and leukemia.

The Medical Oncology department began the journey to achieve NCODA Accreditation at the end of 2022 and was awarded accreditation in October 2024 after a rigorous review of processes and quality.

“This award shows Oncology’s commitment to ongoing care coordination, accuracy, safety, cost avoidance, and quality improvement in the services we deliver to our patients,” said Revere Health Administrator Ben Hodges. “We are thrilled to add this to the awards that Revere Health has received furthering our value-based care journey. “
