Allergic Reactions and Anaphylaxis
Allergic Reactions and Anaphylaxis
Allergic reactions can range from mild irritation to life-threatening anaphylaxis. At Revere Health, our experienced providers are trained to recognize and treat allergic reactions effectively.
An allergic reaction occurs when the immune system overreacts to a normally harmless substance such as food or medication. Symptoms may include hives, swelling, itching, nasal congestion or stomach upset. Severe, life-threatening reactions are referred to as anaphylaxis. Those reactions include difficulty breathing, rapid swelling, low blood pressure or loss of consciousness. Anaphylaxis requires immediate medical attention.
At Revere Health, patients receive prompt evaluation and treatment of allergic reactions, emergency care and stabilization for anaphylaxis and long-term management strategies, including prevention plans and allergy testing.
