Updates on OBGYN Department Restructuring

Q: Why are the midwives leaving?

A: Our Certified Nurse Midwives, Ashley Gonzalez, Corrinne Uvejzovic, and Kara Ripplinger, will be concluding their time with our OBGYN practices effective August 31, 2026. This change is part of a transition within the group to focus on physician-led care. Physicians have additional medical training that allows them to manage both routine and more complex situations.

Q: Where is my midwife going?

A: We currently do not know where any of the midwives will be practicing next. They may stay together or practice elsewhere separately. When we do get definitive information on their plans, we’d be happy to share that with you.

Q: Can I still get OBGYN care at Revere Health?

A: Yes. We have four seasoned and caring OBGYN physicians who will continue to provide comprehensive women’s healthcare services. This includes prenatal care, delivery, gynecologic care, and ongoing wellness visits. We offer women’s healthcare services for every stage of a woman’s life.

Q: Will my care plan change?

A: Your new physician will review your current care plan and discuss any adjustments with you. Our goal is to ensure your care remains uninterrupted. Our team is committed to making this transition as smooth and comfortable as possible, and we are here to help you establish care with the physician who best fits your needs and preferences.

Q: I am in the middle of my pregnancy, and my delivery date is after my midwife leaves. Who will deliver my baby now?

A: One of our OBGYN physicians will manage your delivery. Depending on scheduling and coverage, it may be your primary physician or another trusted physician in our group.

Q: Can I still have a low-intervention or natural birth?

A: Yes, our physicians support a range of birth preferences. Be sure to discuss your birth plan with your new provider so they can align care as much as possible with your goals.

Q: What if I specifically wanted midwife care?

A: We understand the care and relationships midwives offer are important. We can provide guidance or referrals to outside practices that offer those services if desired, but we encourage you to get to know our physicians before deciding on a change.

Q: Will my upcoming appointments change?

A: Some appointments may be reassigned to a physician. Our team will contact you if any changes are needed.

Q: What if I choose to go to another provider? How do I get my records transferred?

A: If you choose to seek care elsewhere, you may fill out an authorization form to transfer your records to a new provider. You can request your medical records on the Revere Health website. If you know where your records should be sent and cannot use the online system, please call 801-429-8062 for assistance.

Q: Who can I contact if I have questions or concerns?

A: You can contact our office at 801-756-5288 or speak with any member of our care team. We are here to support you through this transition.

Q: Will I have a chance to meet my new provider before delivery?

A: Yes, we encourage scheduling time with your new physician so you can feel comfortable and ask questions. We also intend to hold an open house so you can get to know them even more.
