Bio | Andrew Ence, MD obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology and zoology at Southern Utah University and a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio, Texas. He also completed an internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and a hand and upper extremity fellowship at the University of Virginia. Dr. Ence is board eligible with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and specializes in hand, wrist, elbow, peripheral nerves, and microvascular surgery. Dr. Ence has always enjoyed helping others and decided to pursue a career in medicine so he could make a positive difference in the lives of his patients. Throughout his career, Dr. Ence has observed how the inability of patients to use their hands due to degeneration or trauma leads to a decreased quality of life. Dr. Ence chose to become a hand surgeon because he wanted to help others regain their independence and improve their quality of life.
When he is not taking care of patients, Dr. Ence enjoys playing basketball, hiking, boating, wake surfing, and exploring new places with his family. |
