Bio | Elizabeth “Liza” Mahoney PA-C obtained a Bachelor of Science in microbiology at Brigham Young University and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Penn State University. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Liza has an interest in endocrinology and family medicine and speaks fluent English and Spanish. When she was in kindergarten Liza had a procedure done at Primary Children’s Hospital, and the compassionate care she received from the doctors and nurses inspired her to work in healthcare. Liza loves the complexity of the human body and helping her patients take steps to improve their physical and mental health. Liza worked with diabetic patients before completing her medical training, and she developed a passion for helping diabetic patients feel in control of their health. She also volunteered in a clinic for patients with limited healthcare access. Through this experience, she learned how to help patients apply for cost-saving programs and connect them with available community resources. Liza is passionate about collaborative medicine and believes that everyone can (and should) understand medicine. She believes that patients who understand their medical conditions are better equipped to find the healing and happiness they seek. When she is not taking care of patients, Liza enjoys spending time outside with her husband and twin baby girls. She also loves experiencing new things, going on adventures in the Utah mountains, trying new recipes, hiking, and traveling. |
