Bio	Jonathan is a certified physician assistant specializing in pulmonology. He understands that difficulty breathing can be both frustrating and terrifying, and he enjoys helping his patients overcome or manage their problems that negatively impact their day-to-day activities. Jonathan finds great satisfaction in helping his patients improve their health and find relief. Before practicing medicine, Jonathan was a professional pilot and Spanish teacher. He is from Utah originally, but has spent significant time in arctic Alaska and northern Michigan. When he’s not at the clinic, Jonathan enjoys outdoor activities, reading, aviation and golfing. Jonathan is married with four adult children and has a Brittany Spaniel named Sherlock.

I’m very happy with him providing my care!

I had been struggling to control my asthma all summer. Dr Nelson helped me to determine what I needed to do differently to get things back to normal. He also addressed a long standing problem that I have asked several providers about in the past without resolution. I was able to get the needed testing scheduled to address the issue. He listens carefully, provides more information than any other provider I’ve ever had, but works so thoroughly that it all gets done in the time a regular Exam takes. I’m very happy with him providing my care!

Jonathan has been helping me with sleep and breathing issues for about a 18 months. He is always very interested in my health and comfort. He listens, is never rushed and answers all my questions honestly, even if the answer is "I don't know". Rather than just continuing with treatment that is working ok, he is constantly tweaking my medication trying to make things just a bit better. I recommend him without reservation and I also really like the whole Revere team and am very impressed with their Salem Clinic.
