PROVO, Utah – March 30, 2020 – Revere Health, the largest independent multispecialty physician group in Utah, is using its telehealth capabilities to serve its patient during the COVID-19 outbreak, while keeping them safe.
“Many of our patients who have non-urgent needs can be seen through virtual appointments that are available through our telehealth services,” says Scott Barlow, Revere Health Chief Executive Officer. “While telehealth appointments are not appropriate for every medical concern, they do allow us to serve many of our patients from the comfort and safety of their own home.”
During a telehealth appointment, Revere Health patients will receive a secure link via text message and can copy that link to their preferred web browser on a computer, smartphone or tablet—the device must have camera and microphone capabilities. Once the patient is logged in, the provider or their assistant will appear on the patient’s screen and initiate the appointment.
Barlow says that telehealth appointments can be effective under a number of circumstances. This includes consultations on everything from allergies, colds and skin conditions to infections, sprains or insect bites. Physicians can even conduct Medicare annual wellness visits through virtual appointments.
“We suggest that our patients call their physician’s office and inquire whether or not their condition or concern can be served through a telehealth appointment,” said Barlow.
For more information about making and participating in a virtual appointment, Revere Health patients are encouraged to go to reverehealth.com/telehealth.
