Bio | Gordon Stock, MD obtained a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering at Brigham Young University and a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine. As part of his training, Dr. Stock completed a general surgery internship at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in Kansas City, Missouri, and an adult reconstruction fellowship at the Jefferson University Joint Replacement Clinic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is board certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic surgery and specializes in orthopaedics and hip and knee replacements. He speaks fluent English and French. As an undergraduate, Dr. Stock trained in mechanical engineering. Near the end of his engineering training, Dr. Stock was introduced to orthopaedic surgery and spent some time in the operating room. As an engineer, he could help improve patients’ lives indirectly, but as a surgeon, he found he could have a greater impact in improving patients’ quality of life. Through ingenuity and a love for people, he decided to pursue a career in medicine. Dr. Stock strives to empower his patients to make their own medical decisions and uses his extensive medical knowledge to help them make the best possible decision. When he is not taking care of patients, Dr. Stock enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, doing triathlons, and hunting. |
