Bio	Jonathan Shumway, DO obtained a Bachelor of Science in public health, cum laude, at Brigham Young University and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the UNTHSC Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Shumway is board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine and specializes in family medicine. He speaks English and basic Spanish. Dr. Shumway chose to become a physician because he wanted to prevent and relieve suffering. Throughout his career, he has used his scientific knowledge and compassionate nature to heal and serve in his community. Dr. Shumway enjoys working as a family medicine provider as it allows him to treat multiple needs while helping his patients achieve emotional, social, and physical health. Dr. Shumway strives to be available for his patients at every stage of their lives and help them feel heard, understood, and validated. He believes that empathy does as much for healing as scientific knowledge. When he is not taking care of patients, Dr. Shumway enjoys hiking, camping, and playing games with his family. He also loves going to the theater, singing, listening to audiobooks, stargazing, biking, and baking.
