Bio | Zach Gibson, PA-C obtained a B.S. in neuroscience at Brigham Young University and an MMSc in Physician Assistant Studies while completing his medical training at Yale University. After graduation from Yale’s PA program, Zach completed additional training to attain certification in Obesity Management sponsored by AAPA and The Obesity Society. He enjoys working with patients with obesity to achieve the healthiest and happiest version of themselves and is passionate about reducing stigma and medical mistreatment for patients with obesity, substance use disorders, mental illness, and chronic pain. In addition to obesity training and certification, Zach has focused his post-graduate education on providing holistic care for patients with substance use disorders and incorporating addiction treatment into routine medical primary care. His other interests include disorders of the gut-brain interaction, PCOS, POTS, contraception, and sexually transmitted infections including HIV and hepatitis C. Beyond his patient care at Revere Health, Zach works closely with multiple universities in the area to train phyisican assistant students and regularly works with students in the clinic and gives lectures on addiction medicine, diabetes diagnosis and management, osteoporosis care, electrolyte abnormalities, and women’s health. This educational work informs his other interests and requires him to stay up to date on cutting edge research and treatment with pharmaceutical and lifestyle management for as many conditions as possible. Initially interested in a career in academia, Zach realized that there was an incredible opportunity in medicine to educate and work together with patients to help them understand their health. He chose to practice family medicine because he enjoys helping children and adults approach their health in a personalized, evidence-based fashion. He understands that no two patients are alike and strives to create an environment where every patient, regardless of race, body size, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or any other demographic feels empowered to be the healthiest version of themselves. When he is not taking care of patients, Zach is a LEGO enthusiast and enjoys collecting and photographing his LEGO designs. Additionally, he plays volleyball every week and dabbles in any other sport he can find a place to play. He is a husband and father and enjoys sharing his hobbies with his family, especially watching Marvel movies and TV shows together and exposing them to every trivia highlight he can think of. |
